Farming Means...

A couple of days ago I pulled myself away from the computer to start taking care of the strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries that we planted last year. I spent the first 45 minutes walking from one building to another looking for the tools that I need.

Then I brought the lawnmower down to the patch and realized that I am too weak to get it started. Once Tim came to my rescue I was able to get it going all by myself.

Then I broke the pull cord.

Then I went to town to buy the hand tools that we don't have.

3 days later, I'm just about ready to pull some weeds. The good news is teh plastic strips that we planted the berries into worked! Some of the plants are so big and healthy that no weeds grew around them at all! Some weeds have snuck through, but this is SO MUCH EASIER than when we planted strawberries without plastic. 3 cheers for no-spray berries!
