Farming Means...

A couple of days ago I pulled myself away from the computer to start taking care of the strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries that we planted last year. I spent the first 45 minutes walking from one building to another looking for the tools that I need.

Then I broke the pull cord.

Then I went to town to buy...

Relax....

I've got no upcoming deadlines :)  what a treat. A week off. no, wait. Tim agreed to contribute some thoughts to some government think-tank-type event regarding our reality as young farmers. and I have my website to work on this week. but, mostly i am back to taking it easy this week...

The Revival rocked, and Juanita was a stunning performer.

Where to begin...

Chickens coming tomorrow. My last flock from ACA for a bit. Shipping turkeys to Olymel next week. 35 acres of corn in. 40 acres of beans in. Hoping to have another 80 acres of corn in by the weekend. Paper work piled to the celing in the office, bills to pay, no money. Exec meeting tomorrow with Chicken Board, Wednesday invited to Standing Committee on Agriculture. Topic young farmers and the future of farming. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Go flyers!

Got to Be the Biggest

I've been so excited abou the concert at the Grand Revival, I haven't given a whole lot of thought to opening up the rest of the property for people who would like to check out the farm operation.

Well, tonight I *finally* watched Tim load the bale burner. After all the hype, the newness, the chaos, the learning... that thing is friggin cool. We are set for life with a burner that size, using a crop by-product to heat our buildings. As long as we don't lose the farm, that is :)

All the agric...

On behalf of Tim

Tim is too tired to write, but he would like to offer an update, so I'll do it for him :)

Catching crew was behind schedule anyway.

He was back in the barn at 6:00 am to turn the feed and water on f...
